Edwards County Community Unit School District #1

I. A public hearing to approve a proposed tax levy increase for Edwards County Community Unit School District #1 for 2023 payable in 2024 will be held on November 20, 2023, at 6:45 p.m. at the West Salem Grade School Building – Science Room (105 E. School Street, West Salem, IL 62476).

II. The corporate and special purpose property taxes extended or abated for 2022 were $3,167,701

The proposed corporate and special purpose property taxes to be levied for 2023 are $3,433,462. This represents an 8.4% increase over the previous year extension.

III. The property taxes extended for debt service and public building commission leases for 2022 were $299,962.

The estimated property taxes to be levied for debt service and public building commission leases for 2023 are $299,972. This represents a .00003% increase over the previous year.

IV. The total property taxes extended or abated for 2022 were $3,467,663.

The estimated total property taxes to be levied for 2022 are $3,733,424. This represents a 7.7% increase over the previous year extension.
